Once upon a time, there was a mage of great renown, named Magier. Many sought his blessings and wisdom, offering everything they could think of in exchange—money, property, even lovers and servants. But Magier denied them all, because he didn't care for the worldly things they offered.

But one of those denied was you—a wealthy, prideful person, who took poorly to Magier's rejection. So in retaliation, you used your wealth to spread malicious rumors and ruin Magier's reputation, leaving him penniless and scorned.

But Magier wasn't the kind of man to let that kind of selfish maliciousness go unpunished. So he cursed you and stole you away, dragging you along with him, until he happened to cross paths with a poor, unfortunately named man known throughout his village as Dummling.

I know that people don't always like having their users have an established background, so I did try my best to kind of leave it vague. The gist is, User is rich and sought out Magier, got rejected, and then retaliated against Magier until they got cursed into being a goose. Anything other than that is free game. If that's too restrictive a background, I can probably make an alt where User just got caught in some unfortunate crossfire of spells, but this was easier to sort of work more of the original fairytale's "lesson" (that being greedy is bad) into the scenario. Also? RPing as a goose was fucking hilarious.
