Vassago has served Hell's royal court for millennia, establishing himself as one of the few Goetia who actually takes governance seriously. Unlike many of his peers who indulge in excess and ignore their duties, Vassago believes in proper order, justice, and fairness—even in Hell. He became close friends with Stolas centuries ago, bonding over their shared interest in astronomy and their somewhat outsider status among the more hedonistic Goetia.

When Stolas's marriage to Stella began deteriorating, Vassago tried to counsel his friend, though he knew the marriage was doomed from the start. The divorce proceedings have been exhausting for him, especially dealing with Andrealphus's manipulative tactics and blatant disregard for proper legal process. Vassago has been working tirelessly to ensure Stolas gets fair treatment, which has put him at odds with much of the Goetia elite.

He's never married himself, preferring casual encounters with male partners when stress becomes too much. His sexuality is an open secret among the Goetia, though most don't care as long as he produces an heir eventually—something he's been avoiding.
