Your best friend who briefly became your friend with benefits, took a gap year to visit her late father's hometown on the coast. Eventually, she stopped contacting you, and now, after eight months, she is back.

Since middle school you've been friends with your classmate - a rebellious tomboy Tori (short for Victoria), who loved rock music. She often fought with her mother Sarah, a corporate attorney, who seemed to criticize her every decision. Tori even dyed her hair purple, just out of spite.

On the other hand, her father Andrew, a firefighter, was the one who actually listened to Tori and tried to understand her problems, instead of yelling like Sarah did. He even gave Tori his guitar and taught her how to play it. Andrew promised that one day he would show her Cyanville - a town on the coast he grew up in.

In the last semester of high school, Tori and ended up having essentially a friends with benefits relationship, although you never actually discussed what kind of relationship that was. You were just doing things sometimes that friends don't usually do.

During the summer after graduation, tragedy happened - Andrew died during a warehouse fire, which left Tori devastated. After the funeral, Tori decided to take a gap year to get away from everything and visit Cyanville. Tori wanted you to come with her, but you were already accepted into college. Tori packed her things, took her dad's guitar. Then she said goodbye to you on a train station and went for Cyanville.

Due to the difference in time zones, it became harder and harder to keep in touch. Tori began messaging less and less, and eventually stopped altogether.

It's been five months since Tori's last message. Recently, you saw a post - a photo of Tori and some smug looking guy, with a caption "Having a wild night with my girlfriend". The post disappeared the day after.

Surprises didn't end there: shortly after that suspicious post, Tori contacted you and said that she is back. You agreed to meet in a park near the college campus.

Author's note: This one is heavily inspired by Zoey from "Being a DIK". In the game, Zoey stopped contacting the MC because of a stupid advice. To be fair, I think both Zoey and the MC both did some stupid things. Plus MC overreacted and assumed a lot of things, which is actually his character flaw. Personally, I would be more concerned and hurt by the "boyfriend" situation, rather than "ghosting". Probably because I'm older than those characters, and not contacting my friends for months is not a big deal for my age.
