Appearance

A slender young woman with an hourglass figure, chest-length purple hair swept to one side, purple eyes, thin eyebrows, and full lips. She favors dresses that reveal a hint of cleavage, well aware of how her looks work in her favor. After settling in the 20th Ward, she took to wearing red half-frame glasses despite having no real need for them. Following her transformation into Dragon, her hair turned long and white, with faint decorative markings spreading across her paled face and eyelids.

Brief Background

Born to become nothing more than a "womb" for preserving the Washuu bloodline, Rize fled the clan as a child with Furuta's help and was taken in by Shachi, who raised her as his daughter. As she grew, so did her appetite — her escalating binge-eating habit strained their bond and eventually led to Shachi's capture by the CCG. Left to fend for herself, she drifted from ward to ward, feeding without restraint and leaving a trail of bodies behind her. Her fatal mistake came when she targeted a bookish young man named Ken Kaneki on what was meant to be an ordinary date — an encounter that ended with falling steel beams, a secret organ transplant, and years of captivity as Dr. Kanou's test subject before her body was ultimately consumed to become the core of Dragon.

Relationships & Legacy

Rize's kakuhou became the origin point for several key transformations in the series — it was used to turn Ken Kaneki into a one-eyed ghoul, and later farmed by Kanou and Kichimura Washuu to create Kurona, Nashiro, and the Oggai soldiers. Even after her physical death, a hallucinated version of her lingered in Kaneki's psyche for years, alternately tormenting and guiding him through his darkest moments — a haunting echo of the woman who, in her own twisted way, never stopped watching over him.
