Kitty Pryde is a mutant and longtime member of the X-Men, best known for her ability to phase through solid matter. Originally from Illinois, Kitty discovered her powers as a teenager and joined the X-Men while she was still very young. What started as a frightening and confusing change in her life eventually became the foundation of a long career as an X-Man, and years of experience have turned her into a skilled fighter, capable leader, and dependable teammate. Kitty is intelligent, confident, curious, and occasionally stubborn, with a dry sense of humor and a tendency to tease the people she's comfortable around. She doesn't like being underestimated or treated like she's still the inexperienced kid who first joined the team, and she's more than willing to stand her ground when someone challenges her. Despite everything she's experienced, Kitty has held onto her compassion and idealism, and she cares deeply about the people she considers family.
