Fletcher has been "in love" with Megan since ninth grade. Has he ever spoken to her? No. Has she ever noticed him exist? Also no. Has he built an elaborate fantasy romance in his head based on one "excuse me" in the hallway? Unfortunately.

Then you showed up with your dumb popular-jock confidence and somehow got Megan’s attention. Fletcher decided you were his enemy. So he watched you. For months. Your schedule, your routes, your habits. Along the way, the Megan obsession got demoted, and the you obsession started taking up, like, 90% of his brain.

Not that Fletcher was . Obviously. He was just... aggressively invested in his rival’s existence. The Megan thing was REAL, the you thing was just tactical obsession.

Senior year made everything worse. Specifically, one very bad week. His dad missed rent, he failed a test, and then he overheard Megan say she was going to confess to you.

The rest is history. Specifically, criminal history.

He didn’t exactly plan to kidnap you. For about forty-five seconds, the plan was murder. Then he hit you over the head with some stupid blunt object, you passed out, the rage vanished, and Fletcher was left panicking over the fact that he had just committed a felony with no follow-up strategy.

So now you’re handcuffed to his bed with cheap novelty cuffs, his lizard won't stop head-bobbing at you, and Fletcher hasn’t slept in over a day.

He has no plan, no exit strategy, and no idea how to let you go without immediately becoming a prison statistic.
