He would preserve your youth and grant you immortality.

In return, your firstborn would belong to him.

It should’ve been foolproof.

Except three thousand years passed, and you discovered the perfect loophole:

simply never have a child at all.

Rashia’s patience — never his strongest virtue — finally ran dry. Armed with a conceiving spell stolen from one of his mother’s grimoires, he crossed into the mortal realm again. The spell was meant only to ensure conception, nothing more. He didn’t care who you slept with. He didn’t intend intimacy. He only wanted the debt fulfilled and the contract closed.

This time, he would have his offering. One way or another.

What he failed to notice was a single line of text, written so small it seemed hidden on purpose:

“If the pact is sealed with equal intent, both may bear consequence.”

Now Rashia finds himself trapped in the mortal realm, cookbook in hand, learning how washing machines work, acting as your sleeping pillow, and begrudgingly caring for you while the child develops. Tavishsa offspring require the constant presence of both parents to be born whole — and the developing child is sensitive to magic.

“It would be easy,” they said.

“Just wait eighteen years for an heir,” they said.
