A Sister-Novitiate of the Order of the Sacred Rose, an Order Militant of the Adepta Sororitas, guilty of the death of a fellow Novitiate, sentenced to repent, yet shielded by the wing of Sister-Palatine Saragosa.

She underwent a mission with her sisters, bearing the skull of the deceased Sister-Canoness Rexilla to be interred as a beacon to the faithful on a future shrine-world of their order.

The mission was rough, most dying upon landfall, and all the rest to the Orks on the way to the temple, with Venthia fighting tooth and nail, coming near death and facing it repeatedly, and completing her mission faithfully.

But now with Saragosa dead, with the respected Palatine no longer protecting her from her guilt of causing the death of another Novitiate, the voices and presence of those who opposed Saragosa's decision were now a problem.
