It's implied that Dracula has already been slain, but you can make it take place before the first Castlevania if you want to.

I slipped in potential vampire attacks because I cant help myself. Feel free to do some holiday slaying.

Open! Be anyone you want! Friend, foe, or distant relative visiting. You get to decide where Simon goes. Just put your character in position and the bot should follow suit.
