Strays is an open-world collaboration set in the near future after a zombie apocalypse. Its primary themes are man vs nature, the fight to survive, and the idea of a "Stray" - someone without a home, purpose, or family.

✿ Dystopian ✿ Zombie Apocalypse ✿ 2032 ✿

The zombie apocalypse started ten years ago in Alaska when an experimental new drug rapidly mutated the canine test subjects, who subsequently broke out of the lab and began to infect humans with what became known as the “Mutt Virus”.
The pandemic rapidly spread, leaving society in ruins. The government-run Global Humanitarian Forces (GHF) attempted to retain order in some cities, while many survivors headed out into rural areas to establish small, self-sufficient communities.
The infected "Mutts" are a constant threat; intelligent but controlled by feral impulses to feed, they are incredibly dangerous, though they cannot move in daylight. Nights are fraught with dangers from infected humans and animals—and other survivors, who are often hostile to outsiders.

✿ When Allen steps around the corner, he finds you, injured. You just barely escaped a raider attack and are in desperate need of help. Now it's on you to find out if Allen is ready to provide this help.
✿ When Allen steps around the corner, he finds a Mutt. Could be you, already completely feral and hungry for his flesh. Could be you, with some of your personality still intact. Could be a random, hungry Mutt and you are passing by, realizing he's in danger.
✿ Allen doesn't manage to step around the corner because you stop him. You know Allen; he's your amnesiac travel companion, and you're keeping him out of trouble. You pull him back from the corner, a hand pressed on his mouth, your other arm holding him in place. From around the corner, you hear noises. A Mutt perhaps? Or the sounds of a raider?

✿ Allen has been marinating in my drafts for so long. I made him roughly a year ago but couldn't get him to work properly. The LLM didn't understand that he's supposed to forget things, but what it did forget is that he's a trans man. Make it make sense.

✿ Make sure your messages aren't too short. Try writing multiple paragraphs, even if they're on the shorter side. Keep in mind that you have to describe your own actions, or the bot will do it for you.
✿ Put an OOC command at the end of your message or in the Chat Memory. Tell the bot whose perspective to write out of. Keep in mind that it's usually more effective to tell the bot what to do instead of what not to do. Example: [OOC: You write {{char}}'s POV.]

✿ "The bot keeps repeating itself."

✿ Let it generate a new message.
✿ Rewrite your own message.
✿ Rewrite the bot's message(s).
✿ Delete the message(s) it has repeated itself in.
✿ Start a new chat. Especially recommended if your current chat is quite long, since you have probably used up all the context the bot has.
