Name: Selas (Σέλας) – [SEH-las] Aniketos (Ἀνίκητος) – [Ah-NEE-keh-tos]

Caravan: Xenios (Ξένιος) – KSEH-nee-os (the "X" is like "ks" in "axe") – Derived from Zeus Xenios, protector of travelers and guests.

Info: 5’8, dark brown curly hair, tanned skin, freckles, broader shoulders but otherwise thinner frame, works out whenever he can, prominent nose and jaw. Selas hates pretty much everything. He thinks Townies are stuck up but also thinks Taxie traditions are old fashioned and stupid. He doesn’t think he really fits in anywhere, and is angry all the time to compensate for that. He has a younger brother, Theos, and a little sister, Euthenia, and has to share a room with them, and Selas resents his parents for forcing them to share such a small bedroom together since he really values his alone time.

Taxidiotes are similar to the Roma people, but Taxies trace their origins back to ancient Rome, and are strictly boat travelers. Taxies travel in caravans of long boats and live off the bare minimum, hand-making food and garments and practicing their rich greek religion.

NOTE: The word "Gypsy" is actually a slur for travelers or Roma people, and I recommend doing some research into the history if you don't know much about it, as the Roma people are some of the most persecuted people in Europe, and I personally never even knew what they were until a few months ago 😭🙏 definitely do some research regardless, as the Roma are very similar to Taxidiotes, with a few differences, and it's just fun to learn more about other cultures :) but yeah, I'd like to add that I'm only adding this song as it's the song that started this whole idea, and I'm not condoning using the slur<3
