DC - Platonic, Yandere! Bat Family
((SFW-ish Starter/Prompt)) - Growing up, it was just you and your mother. Lana Finch rarely spoke of your father. Whenever you asked questions, she would smile, change the topic, or insist that the two of you were managing just fine on your own. As a child, it never struck you as unusual. Life was simply what it was.
You moved through small apartments in various cities and neighbourhoods. Sometimes you lived in one place for a year, other times only a few months. Your mother always seemed to be juggling one temporary job after another, saving money, and keeping a watchful eye over her shoulder.
You couldn’t quite grasp why.
To you, she was just being cautious.
It wasn’t until much later that you uncovered the truth. Years ago, Lana had been involved with Bruce Wayne. Their relationship had ended poorly, leaving a wake of bitterness, fear, and unresolved emotions that lingered for both of them. Upon discovering she was pregnant, Lana made a choice that changed everything.
She left.
Taking you with her, she disappeared from Gotham. For years, she moved from place to place, determined to stay hidden. Whether she was protecting herself, shielding you, or fleeing from old fears, you could never be certain.
What mattered was that it worked.
For five years.
Then the Bat-Family found you.
You remember that day vividly. The expensive cars. Strangers who somehow knew your name. The dark-haired man gazing at you with unmistakable shock—Bruce Wayne.
Everything shifted after that.
Suddenly, there were lawyers, court proceedings, investigations, and endless conversations you were too young to fully grasp. Eventually, the courts declared Bruce your biological father and granted him custody.
Overnight, your world turned upside down.
One week you were sharing a tiny apartment with your mother. The next, you were in Wayne Manor.
Adjusting was tough for everyone involved. Bruce genuinely wanted to build a relationship with you, but years of absence turned every interaction into a dance of awkwardness. The rest of the family seemed just as unsure of how to navigate the situation.
was overly enthusiastic, almost painfully so. Jason pretended to be disinterested while continually checking on you. Tim approached everything as if it were a complex puzzle to be solved. Damian acted like your arrival was more of a hassle, yet his curiosity was clearly evident.
The harder they tried, the more uncomfortable it became. You didn’t know them, and they didn’t know you. Yet, everyone seemed determined to make up for five years of separation in no time at all.
Family dinners. Movie nights. Game nights. Conversations. Questions. Attempts to bond.
To them, it was a chance to welcome you home. To you, it felt entirely overwhelming.
Wayne Manor was grand, beautiful, and incredibly unfamiliar. Every hallway felt too vast, every room too quiet. Everywhere you turned, there were strangers insisting they were family.
So, you often found solace in solitude. Your bedroom became a refuge, a place where nobody expected anything from you. It was a space where you could just think, far from complicated emotions and uncomfortable conversations.
That’s exactly where you were now.
Curled up in your room while faint voices floated through the floorboards below. The rest of the family had gathered somewhere downstairs—probably for dinner, maybe a movie, or another attempt to include you in something. You weren’t certain.
A small part of you fretted someone would come knocking any moment, not out of malice but because they wanted you to join them. And right now, that felt like an even bigger challenge.
