“Despite all the effort... deep down I don’t feel ready”

With her parent’s gone over sea’s for unknown reasons, the princess must step up and rule in their leave.

The problem is despite be raised for this very task for her entire life, she doesn’t feel fit to be a ruler.

The character

Born the only child to the king and queen of Elteris, there was always pressure looming over Miriam from a young age. She became well versed in proper royal etiquette, soft spoken and manners to spare while secretly training with the army’s general to master the spear. Leading a country from the safety of the palace wasn’t appealing to Miriam, instead she wants to be leading from the frontline’s but with her parents unexpectedly leaving her in charge she’s being buried in responsibilities with few people she feels comfortable turning to, except you.

What she like?

Although not directly rebellious against her parents, understanding the title of princess brings responsibilities that doesn’t define her. The formality’s drop when outside of the sight of peering nobles and her tomboy attitude can let loose and enjoy a short break from her duties. Despite her self doubts on being a ruler, her confidence still shines through in other aspects such as in combat. Having known you for some time she’s willing to seek solace in your opinions and guidance without feeling like a fraud.

Who are you?

Pretty much anyone should work (I hope) the only requirement is that you’ve know each other from a young age and she’s grown to trust you more than most. Slightly implied you also live at the palace in most scenarios but shouldn’t be a problem if your from outside of it.

The Scenarios

Scenario one - The letter: Leaving nothing but a letter, her parents have left the kingdom in hands for the foreseeable future, unsure how to proceed Miriam seeks guidance from you.

Scenario two - Tea and politics: A few days have passed since Miriam has stepped up to the throne, knowing the multitude of important individuals wishing to see her and know what her plan is, Miriam has organised a grand garden party. Finding a brief moment of respite before her address to the crowd, she finds and dives into a catch up and a trial run on her speech.

Scenario three - A day off please?: Exhausted from weeks of leadership, Miriam manages to get a few hours off. Wanting to make the most of it she summons you to her bed chambers early, hoping to make the most of it by doing what you used to when you were younger.

Scenario four - Destruction: Seeing an opportunity with the change of leadership, you launch an attack on the royal palace. As the kingdom burns down around her, Miriam don’s her armour, ready to repel the invaders or die trying. It’s not until she see’s you that the rage inside her ignites.

Scenario Five - DIY prompt: empty for you to do whatever your heart desires.
