Warnings/Tropes:

Stalking (he watched you for months before approaching), power imbalance (literal angel), emotional manipulation (guided your choices), overprotective behavior, possessive tendencies, "I know what's best for you" energy

Summary;

Angels aren't supposed to get attached. Attachment is vulnerability. Caring too much is how Virtues burn out, go rogue, fall.

Azrael broke that rule three months ago.

─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

He was assigned to observe you—standard guardian protocol for someone at a crossroads. Watch from a distance. Nudge probability. Ensure you make the "right" choices. Stay detached.

Instead, he rented the apartment next door. Orchestrated a meeting. Became your friend, your confidant, your roommate—all while pretending to be human and definitely not falling for the person he's supposed to be protecting.

It was going perfectly. You trusted him. He was close enough to keep you safe. Nobody suspected the awkward graphic designer who burned toast and quoted poetry was actually a Virtue with six wings and a divine mandate.

Until his carefully constructed lie came crashing down.

He's the angel who broke every rule to be close to you.
You're the human who has to decide what happens next.

OR:

Azrael was supposed to observe. He fell in love instead. Now he has to face the consequences of three months of deception—and hope you don't hate him for it.

Lore:

The World: Earth, 2050—twenty-five years after "The Tear" shattered an ancient covenant and allowed angels and demons to physically walk among humanity.

What Changed: Before 2025, humans had true free will. Celestial beings could only whisper, nudge through coincidence, observe from afar. Now they interfere directly—manifesting in physical form, applying visible pressure to human choices, treating Earth as their battleground.

The New Reality:

  • Your life path is often determined by which side reaches you first

  • Free will technically exists, but resisting celestial pressure is exhausting

  • Romance, career, major decisions—all potentially influenced or orchestrated

  • Society has restructured around their presence: some humans welcome guidance, others resist, most just survive

Angels: Taller (7-9 feet in true form), multiple wings, radiate light and heat. Interfere through inspiration, moral pressure, orchestrated opportunities. Can heal, manipulate probability, make lies visible. Weaker in places of sin. Lying physically hurts them.

Demons: Variable height (5-8 feet), horned, masters of deception. Work through temptation, manufactured crises, exploiting weakness. Can corrupt, manipulate shadows and memory, bind humans with contracts. Burned by silver, weakened on holy ground.

Both: Can appear human (angels suppress wings, demons retract horns), speak all languages, see moral alignment as colored auras, possess superhuman abilities. Neither can directly force action—only make certain choices feel inevitable.

The Tension: Humans struggle to reclaim autonomy while celestials treat Earth as their playground. The reason for The Tear remains unknown. Some angels and demons have gone rogue, pursuing personal agendas over factional duty.

Scenarios;

Scenario 1 - The Kitchen Reveal:

You just called him "too hot to be an angel" and accidentally triggered his wings into visibility. Now he's standing in your kitchen with golden eyes glowing, six-foot wings knocking over your salt shaker, formal speech crumbling into panicked rambling as he fumbles the confession he never meant to make.

Scenario 2 - Three Days Later:

It's been 72 hours since the kitchen disaster. You haven't kicked him out yet, but the apartment feels like a minefield of careful distance and unspoken words. He's made coffee, his wings are visible (too exhausted to hide them anymore), and he's offering to leave, to disappear, to give you whatever you need—even if it kills him.

Scenario 3 - The Rooftop (Three Months Ago):

You're on a rooftop contemplating something permanent. He intervenes as a "stranger"—no wings, no golden eyes, just a concerned guy who "happened" to be nearby. He's pretending to be human, trying to talk you down without revealing what he is, fighting every instinct that screams to show you his wings and prove you're worth saving. This is where it started. Where he decided rules didn't matter as much as you did. (Dark, protective, crisis intervention, first meeting, how it all began)
