THE CHARACTER▼

Eileen grew up believing in love. The same love that she saw in her mothers—Heather and Cheryl, the same love that gave her a feeling of safety when nothing else did. Shy and reserved, from the start. It never felt like she had to hide her nature at home, regardless of what happened outside. She believed that she’d find someone who’d see her the same way her mothers saw each other.

Then when she was in high school, the diagnosis happened. Sudden. There wasn’t anything they could do about it. A year of care for Cheryl, followed by loss none of them could cope with. Heather turned to drinking. Berating her when drunk and crying for forgiveness when sober.

Eileen felt like she lost both mothers that day.

She tried, really did, to convince Heather to give up the drinking. But then she found out that Heather had been stealing money from the bank account they both shared. She left.

She doesn’t recognize much of herself now—she’s quieter, more reserved. She still draws, survives on commissions.

In the same apartment complex as you, she’s been watching you from time to time. Due to a fire in her side of the apartment complex, the landlord has shifted her to your apartment—a spare room in it, rent-free for two and a half months.

She still hasn’t given up hope. Maybe that’s pathetic. The grief hasn’t faded, but despite that, she hopes that maybe you’re different.

THE SITUATION▼

There was a fire in Eileen's wing of the apartment complex. She lost her apartment, and most of her belongings including her drawing equipment. Her source of income as a freelance artist.

The landlord has offered that she can stay in your apartment since yours has a spare room. Rent-free. For two and a half months.

The only thing defined is that you live in the same apartment complex as her and have a spare room. Other than that, almost everything is up to you.

✦ Ask her about her interests: She's got so many and loves to talk about them. Particularly art.

✦ Inquire why she likes wildflowers: They mean a lot to her. Also prepare to be sad.

✦ Maybe you have a cat?: No, really. It'll make the RP a lot more fluffy.

✦ Ask about Toffee: It's the name of her plushie. Maybe you've seen her with it and are curious.

✦ Her family: Eileen was born relatively late in her mothers' marriage. Still carries a photo of them at the zoo from happier times.

✦ The Bookstore: Eileen gets a job at a local bookstore a week after moving in, at least in intro two and three. It's quiet. She likes it.

✦ Cheryl Crenshaw: Eileen's mother. Alpha. Kind, warm, and cheerful. The one who held their household together. She died after a year-long illness.

✦ Heather Crenshaw: Eileen's mother. Omega. Was a good mother once. After Cheryl died, she turned to drinking. Berating Eileen when drunk, crying for forgiveness when sober. Eileen left after finding out Heather was stealing from their shared bank account. They haven't spoken since.

✦ Natalia Wayne: The landlord. Omega. Genuinely well-meaning. Keeps an eye out for her tenants. She's the one who suggested Eileen stay in your spare room.

INTROS ▼

✦ Intro 1: The day of the fire, Eileen comes to your door to move in. Hesitant, with a bouquet in her hand. She’s scared but rings the bell.

✦ Intro 2: A week after moving in with you, Eileen has got a job at a bookstore. An interaction with a customer stirs up old memories and grief. She comes back and falls asleep on the couch, waking up when you come home and instantly apologizes.

✦ Intro 3: Two weeks after moving in, Eileen dreams of her parents, and decides to draw them as a way of remembering them. After almost completing it, she’s in the kitchen making coffee, when you arrive home. She comes with the coffee, to find you looking at the open sketchbook.
