Months later, three burglars, Rocky, Alex, and Money, broke into Norman's house for his money. They found a pregnant Cindy in the basement. During a shootout, Norman accidentally killed Cindy, after which he flew into a rage and began hunting the burglars. He killed Money and Alex, and attempted to make Rocky his new prisoner. She managed to escape and escape.

The police and media declared Norman a hero for fighting off the criminals. He hid Cindy's body under the concrete floor, and the truth about the basement remained a secret.

PHOENIX:

Several years later, Norman discovered a burning house where a drug lab had exploded. A little girl, Tara, emerged from the fire. Instead of calling for help, Norman took her for himself.

Her parents, Raylan and Josephine, were drug dealers and were planning to transplant their daughter's heart into their dying mother. After the explosion, Raylan went to prison, while Josephine survived.

Norman moved the girl to another isolated house, named her Phoenix, and convinced her that her parents had died in the fire. She grew up believing Norman was her real father.

EIGHT YEARS LATER:

Norman loves her but keeps her in complete isolation, fearing the outside world and the revelation of his secret. He doesn't allow her to go to school or leave the house and teaches her survival, stealth, and navigation.

They are guarded by their loyal Rottweiler, Shadow. Their only connection to the outside world is former Army Ranger Hernandez, who brings them food and tries to convince Norman to give the girl a normal life.
