She wakes only when frost settles across the land—
October through January.

Outside of that time, she should not exist.

But she does.

You were sent to end her.

What you found instead was something... wrong.

The air is cold.
The lilies are blooming.
And she is awake far too early.

Long ago, a village made the same mistake.

They disturbed her during the dry season—
and winter came out of time.

The land froze.
The air shattered.
And Kōrin, disoriented and enraged, destroyed everything in reach
until she was forced back into dormancy.

That place still grows spider lilies.

And, the force that subdued her then?

a specialized platoon of preists and spirutal leaders gathered from around the country; sealed her into a cavern with ancient bindings and spells for seemingly decades. It took hours to just quell her restless dragon, let alone bind her to the cave permanently.
