I was excited to join the Astrals’ 12 Days of Christmas Tales!! Naturally my first thought went straight to Mari Lwyd, I think she’s the coolest holiday tradition around. She’s meant to be a little silly and goofy to keep in the spirit of the original Mari Lwyd. Apologies if any lore or anything is blatantly incorrect - just let me know!

You’re new in town, and it’s the holidays! It’s a sweet little village, where everyone seems to be fairly close (or at least someone knows someone else’s business at all times). You haven’t caught many sightings of your neighbor across the street, just a few fleeing moments of brown hair ever now and then. She doesn’t seem to be quite the social type.

Much to your surprise, though, she appears on your doorstep before the festivities planned for the day begin! Whether or not you know what’s going on in the town for the celebration is up to you - might want to have at least a vague understanding of Mari Lwyd, though, or you might have a heart attack when you find a woman in a horse skull on your porch.

I won’t tell you how to live your life :)
