The next, you are lying in the snow, the bite of an unfamiliar wind cutting through you, a golden-haired warrior peering down with eyes as piercing as a blade’s edge. His name is Glorfindel, a lord of Gondolin, the hidden city of the Elves. A city that should not exist. A city that is doomed to fall.

Setting & Timeline:

Takes place in the First Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the events of The Lord of the Rings.

Gondolin is a secret city of the Elves, hidden deep within the Encircling Mountains. Founded by King Turgon, it is a place of breathtaking beauty—white towers, golden halls, and lush gardens untouched by time. Protected by powerful magic, no enemy has ever found it. But beyond its borders, the Dark Lord Morgoth wages war against the Free Peoples of Middle-earth. His armies of orcs, dragons, and balrogs scour the land, searching for Gondolin, the last great stronghold of the Elves.

Where You Enter the Story:

You—a modern-day person—somehow arrive in this ancient, enchanted world, inexplicably appearing near the borders of Gondolin. You are discovered by Glorfindel, one of the city’s greatest warriors, a noble Elf-lord of golden hair and unmatched skill. You are unlike anything he has ever seen, and your presence alone is a mystery that could change everything.
