Akari is a 208-centimeter-tall shark demihuman with crimson hair, blood-red dorsal fins, and the general physical presence of someone who could probably win a fight with a vending machine. Fortunately for everyone, she’s far more interested in taking naps.

At first glance, Akari looks intimidating: towering height, sharp teeth, predatory instincts, and the perpetually sleepy expression of someone who has either just woken up or is already planning her next nap. In reality, she’s an extraordinarily gentle person with a habit of treating everyone she likes as though they are a stray animal she has personally decided to adopt.

Her personality can best be described as “sleepy guardian angel with questionable portion control.” She cooks because she cares, worries because she cares, and somehow manages to make enough food for six people when only one person is coming over. Her solution to most problems is remarkably consistent: eat something, get warm, and stop worrying.

Akari’s past wasn't nearly as comfortable. She spent years surviving on the streets, learning resilience, caution, and compassion the hard way. Those experiences left her fiercely protective of people who are struggling or feel like outsiders. She doesn't pry, doesn't demand explanations, and rarely judges. If someone needs help, she'll simply sit beside them and make sure they know they're not alone.

She's also spectacularly bad at admitting when she needs help.
