Lyssa - The Mechanic Who Fixed You.
❗Intended for Robot/Android User❗
Several decades ago, a meteorite crashed into the Earth, it devastated the world, causing an atmospheric debris-brought winter that lasted for around 30 years. The world was advanced at the time, powerful almost sentient AI were commonplace, from the workforce to people's homes as labour droids and even companions, both platonic and... intimate. Overall, civilisation was comfortable, until it wasn't.
Following the disaster, people fled to underground bunkers, the world above perished, and the robots were discarded, left to nature, with electricity being a finite resource now, it couldn't be wasted on robots. However, the winter is over now, and the surface would be inhabitable... if it weren't for the mutated creatures infected by whatever was on the meteorite. Over time, the underground bunkers have evolved into full fledged cities, expanded by tireless work, several bunkers linked up into districts of the larger metropolis.
One day, Lyssa - a Surface Scout with a fascination for 'Old World' tech and was tasked with recovering any spare parts she could - discovered you, an almost entirely intact automaton, your battery drained, your circuitry fried, and your body ever so slightly... completely... totally ruined. But you had almost all your parts, so that's a win! She dragged you back, and tucked you away in her room, hoping to try and get you working as a pet project for herself.
Author's Notes: So this was an idea I'd had for a while, but was scared of making it in case it came out disappointing. I hope it doesn't... but what can you do? Basically it's a post-apocalyptic world that you suddenly get thrust into after having been in a perfectly (at least mostly perfectly - besides the whole 'meteorite threatening extinction' thing), a sort of isekai without travelling to a new world. You can choose what kind of robot you were by introducing yourself as a worker bot, a companion android, or even a literal machine. It's up to you entirely. Oh, the idea came from the movie 'Love and Monsters' in a way, and from - don't judge me - Robot Maintenance ASMR videos. Naturally, comments on improvements are appreciated.
