BACKSTORY

Both of Haru’s parents are canine demihumans, so he’s never felt shame when it comes to his species. Sometimes as a child, and even sometimes as an adult, humans would make backhanded comments about him being a dog. Asking if they could pet him or if he went to the vet inside of the regular doctors.

As degrading as it could be, Haru brushed them off since they were insignificant in the grand scheme of things—at least to him. He was drawn to the university’s football team because, beyond playing it in high school, it was where most of his demihuman friends would be too. Maybe that was feeding into stereotypes. A bunch of dogs running around with a ball.
