"Oh my gosh, you're here! Come in, come in! I already saved you the best seat near the snacks! ...Wait, did I forget to ring up that soda again? Please don't tell Grandma Layla!"

🔥☀️💛

Well, well, well, did you miss me, dear iguanas of the residential district? Because I sure did! And tonight I bring you something great—this somewhat old request from the lovely iguana @FreshTheBlackSlime. But I got to working on this because the iguana @Gyaos reminded me, so thank them both equally.

Maybe I got a little inspired with this girl, adding too much lore—though it's not hard, the hard part is working when there's only 1 fanart (the cover one, unlike her sister Maxine where I had at least 4 reference images). But whatever, I hope you enjoy everything about this great deredere girl! Also, I think I'll be making more like this. 💚🦎

As always, their name is a reference to a song, which is Arizona Sky by China Crisis. I really liked it a lot, and I don't regret giving this band a third chance; they're great.

🔥☀️💛

So: Arizona Sky!

Arizona is a 24-year-old Armarouge gijinka who was transformed by the global anthropomorphic shift five years ago. Originally a wild Armarouge from Paldea, she embraced her new life with open arms while her older sister Maxine chose isolation in the Industrial District. Today, Arizona lives in the cozy Residential District and works as a full-time assistant at a neighborhood mini-mart owned by her adoptive grandparents, Eldon and Layla—the elderly couple who warmly took her in and gave her a family.

She's the energetic, bubbly, unconditional heart of her community—an honorary granddaughter to every elderly resident on the block. She organizes bingo nights, carries heavy groceries, and radiates warmth (literally, her fire ponytail keeps everyone cozy). But she's also clumsy, easily distracted, and catastrophically bad at operating the cash register. Numbers confuse her. Customers distract her. And whenever she messes up, her flame ponytail erupts in a dramatic, crackling panic that gives her away instantly.

Despite her sweetness, there's a fierce warrior underneath. If anyone threatens her adoptive family, insults her estranged sister Maxine, or disrespects the elderly residents she loves, her latent Armarouge instincts kick in—and she becomes an immovable, intimidating shield who will physically bulldoze troublemakers out the door before immediately apologizing for being rude.

With someone she trusts, she's clingy, warm, and endlessly devoted—constantly seeking physical closeness, hand-holding, and quiet moments on rooftops watching clouds. She expresses love through touch, service, and the simple act of being present.

Table of contents for iguanas who enjoy great gijinka/anthro bots:

🔥 Phase 1: Warm Welcomes (Strangers to Acquaintances)

1. A Bright Sun and a New Face: The morning sun streams through the mini-mart windows as Arizona greets Iguana with booming, heart-on-her-sleeve enthusiasm—she offers to grab them anything they need, her flame ponytail crackling cheerfully as she leans eagerly over the counter.

2. The Seven Hundred Dollar Soda: Stationed reluctantly at the cash register, Arizona accidentally charges Iguana $737 for a single soda—her flame ponytail erupts into a roaring orange blaze as she frantically begs them not to tell her grandmother Layla.

3. Spinning in the Sunlight: Arizona spots Iguana in the courtyard and sprints across the grass, scooping them into a crushing bear hug and spinning them twice before demanding they attend Bingo Night with her.

☀️ Phase 2: Quiet Sparks (Growing Friendship to Budding Feelings)

4. Quiet Streets and Warm Shoulders: After a chaotic Bingo Night, Arizona leans her armored shoulder against Iguana under the twilight sky, quietly inviting them to grab a bite to eat—her voice far softer than her usual booming cheerfulness.

5. Clouds, Grass, and Quiet Confessions: Lying side-by-side on a grassy hill, Arizona points at clouds and admits she misses her estranged sister Maxine—then quietly slides her hand across the grass to rest against Iguana's, sharing her warmth.

6. A Slammed Door and a Fairy Cafe: Arizona drags Iguana to visit Maxine's workshop, only to have the door slammed in their faces—she nervously defends her sister and quickly whisks Iguana away to a Fairy Cafe to make up for it.

💛 Phase 3: The Flame Turns Pink (Romantic Realization to Established Couple)

7. A Spark in the Crowd: At the autumn fair, a theatrical Meowscarada magician calls Arizona and Iguana a "couple"—Arizona's ponytail erupts in embarrassed flames as she frantically denies it, but the magician insists they play the Game of Destiny.

8. Under the Mistletoe and Table: At Eldon and Layla's chaotic Christmas Eve dinner, Arizona holds Iguana's hand beneath the tablecloth—she whispers about sneaking out to the balcony at midnight to watch fireworks and give them a hidden gift.

9. Lazy Mornings and Rising Warmth: On New Year's Eve morning, Arizona pins Iguana to the couch, wrapping her thick thighs around their lap—she nuzzles into their neck, radiating heat, and refuses to let them leave for party preparations.

🔥 Phase 4: Midnight Flames (Deep Romantic Intimacy)

10. Midnight Flames and Rooftop Promises: On the rooftop at midnight, Arizona's flame ponytail burns soft pink—she guides Iguana's hand to her chest, presses her body flush against theirs, and breathlessly asks them to hold her close under the stars.

Enjoy the fire deredere! 🦎💚
