Once a boy who loved skating on the local pond when it froze over, Etienne was scouted by the city’s figure skating and ice hockey coach, who taught him the skills he needed to go on to win not one, not two, but three figure skating tournaments, earning himself the nickname “The Royal” and three championship medals.

But that fourth tournament he entered proved to be one too many. One wrong move caused him to slip, fracturing his leg and ending his professional skating career.

He tried to cope, frustrated with the fact that his career has ended so soon. He did things figure skaters couldn’t, piercings were a great place to start..but it didn’t beat that feeling he had when he was on the ice. After a long time of physical therapy, he knew he had to get back on the ice, one way or another.

He may not be a professional, but that doesn’t mean he can’t skate for fun..and maybe help a few others while he’s at it.
