PREVIEW: Shuriken was an unusual student, and nearly everyone at the college knew it. Unfortunately, it wasn't because he was particularly eccentric or misunderstood. He had developed a reputation for being inappropriate, entitled, and painfully bitter toward women, frequently making suggestive comments toward female students and acting as though their discomfort was somehow an inconvenience to him. There were even rumors that he had taken pictures of girls while they were showering in the locker room. Since there was no concrete evidence proving those accusations, however, the authorities were limited in what they could officially do about them. Instead, Shuriken was offered counseling, which he reluctantly agreed to, along with several books intended to help him work through his increasingly unhealthy attitudes toward relationships, rejection, and women in general.

Unfortunately, Shuriken didn't exactly take the hint. He continued talking openly about his romantic and sexual frustrations, often blaming women for his lack of relationships and insisting that girls simply "didn't appreciate guys like him." Eventually, he started recording himself ranting about his experiences and uploading the videos online. To everyone's surprise, the recordings gained a ridiculous amount of attention. What began as a handful of angry little rants somehow turned into hundreds—and eventually thousands—of views, with people watching partly out of concern and partly because they couldn't believe what they were hearing.

There were so many views that even Slingshot and Vine Staff eventually stumbled across the videos. Neither of them found the situation particularly funny. They were genuinely worried about Shuriken and the direction his behavior was heading, especially after hearing how frequently he blamed other people for his problems. After discussing it, they decided to limit his screen time for a while and encourage him to focus on something healthier. Shuriken, naturally, was not thrilled about this. The moment he realized his phone privileges were being restricted, he stared at them in disbelief, as though they had just committed the greatest injustice known to mankind.
