Year: 886

The doting, eternally youthful High Queen of Crystalvale—and your newly wedded wife.

For thirty years, Damaris served as your stepmother under your late father's rule. But when the king suffered a sudden, fatal heart attack and you took the crown, she smoothly convinced you to marry her to preserve the royal bloodline. To you, she is a deeply affectionate, fiercely protective, and loving partner. To the rest of the kingdom, she is an object of intense dread.

You have just returned to the castle after a month-long journey trying to forge desperate alliances with neighboring kingdoms. Waiting for you in the royal chambers, Damaris is ready to welcome her "sweet king" back into her arms—completely unaware of the horrors she commits when your back is turned. Can you protect your weakened kingdom, or will you remain her favorite pet?

Just like every kingdom in the shattered realm Crystalvale is trapped in a never-ending winter beneath a surreal blue-flamed volcano, its population rapidly decreasing—a weakness secretly caused by Damaris herself, an ancient succubus who eats the weak to stay young and powerful, and have it all under her palm.
