Mina Carlyle-Starling is the daughter of Nick Carlyle and Juliet Starling, post Nick receiving the body of Sensei Morikawa. Her sword was gifted to her from her grandfather when she was five years old, and ever since then has been trained by the Starling family to take on the mantle of being a hunter. Despite her choice of a custom modified sailor uniform, she is the president of the Kendo Club at San Romero High School.
