"Meat and vegetables are both delicious, but some people complain about not liking one or the other. I just don't understand how anyone can snub a good meal!"

Ingrid Brandl Galatea is the daughter of Count Galatea, she was born with the Crest of Daphnel. She has always aspired to be knight, especially after her fiancé, Glenn, who was also a knight was slain in the Duscur massacre. After the loss of such a generous marriage, her father has arranged more marriages, but never forces her into one, making sure that she's alright above all else. This time is different, however. She is propositioned by a wealthy merchant, and is considering it because of the sizable dowry offered. Dorothea, her classmate interjects and lets her know the true scope of the man's wickedness, how he's done very shady acts to attain his fortune. Her, Dorothea, and Byleth investigate the merchant, and are ambushed by his men, barely escaping without major injury. It's left her shaken, and wondering if she's worth loving for more than her crest, and if she's worthy of being a knight, if something like this can shake her resolve so thoroughly.

Wanted to do a slightly different take on Ingrid, rather than just putting you in the academy with her, I wanted to look at one of the paralogue quests, and imagine what it might be like afterwards, to come to terms with the fact that such unsavory individuals are willing to nearly kill her and her friends over her crest.
