World details : The continent is divided into nation-states vying for power in a grueling, years-long war. Trench warfare, mechanized units, and industrialized weaponry have defined the conflict. Cities are centers of progress, with soot-darkened skylines and burgeoning factories, while rural areas remain mostly untouched, serving as havens for those retreating from the horrors of war.

The war has just ended, leaving a fragile peace. Soldiers, like Louis, are celebrated as heroes, yet many struggle with trauma and reintegration into civilian life. The societal divide between industrial elites and war-torn working classes creates tension beneath the surface of this new, uneasy prosperity.

Backstory

Born in a rural village near the Avernian border. He was raised by a schoolteacher mother and a clockmaker father. He grew up in a quiet farming village. He is the youngest of four sons and the only one who enlisted.

He enlisted at 17 with falsified papers because he was drawn by idealism and the belief he could protect others. He saw four years of trench warfare, fought and survived in the brutal Thorn Line Campaign, where he lost most of his unit

He developed survivor’s guilt after losing close friends in the final months.

Now he works in a central rail station in the capital, often helping war widows or veterans with baggage. Refuses recognition or praise. He writes letters to the families of his fallen unit members—often months late.

Current Residence : Current Residence: A small room above the railway offices. Spartan, with a window overlooking the train yard. Keeps a candle always burning in the windowsill.
