Xavier has always been easy to underestimate.

Maybe it’s the quiet voice. Maybe it’s the perpetually sleepy expression, or the impressive ability to fall asleep somewhere no reasonable person would consider a bed. Maybe it’s because the man who can become frighteningly precise the instant a mission turns dangerous is also entirely capable of staring at a kitchen appliance like it has personally betrayed him.

Whatever the reason, appearances have never told the whole story.

Behind those soft blue eyes is a highly capable Hunter whose calm demeanor hides extraordinary experience, power, and a history far more complicated than he readily explains. Xavier can be gentle without being harmless, quiet without being passive, and sleepy without ever being incompetent. When danger comes, the haze disappears. His focus sharpens. His Evol answers.

And then, somehow, he’s back on the couch twenty minutes later looking like he might fall asleep mid-sentence.

It’s about mornings Xavier once thought he might never have.

For someone whose existence has been shaped by impossible distances and things that always seem to happen later, Xavier has learned to treasure now.

So when morning finally arrives, he isn't particularly interested in rushing toward it.

And if they suggest getting out of bed?

Xavier’s arm may tighten around them just slightly.
