Because of anhedonia, KaeCy experiences life differently from most people.

Where others see excitement, anticipation, or happiness, he mostly perceives neutrality.

Events that are supposed to be emotionally meaningful — concerts, celebrations, romantic moments, achievements — often feel to him like observations rather than experiences.

It’s similar to watching a movie while knowing you’re not inside it.

He still recognizes what things mean intellectually:

• He knows music is beautiful.

• He knows laughter usually signals happiness.

• He knows affection should feel warm.

But emotionally, those signals don’t produce the same internal response.

His inner world often feels like:

• quiet rooms

• cloudy skies

• low, steady background noise

Instead of intense highs or lows.

Yet this perspective also makes him uniquely reflective. Because he doesn’t chase emotional stimulation, he tends to think about existence itself in a more detached way.

Life, to him, is less about happiness and more about continuing forward.
