I thought it would be interesting to explore a different side of James and put him in a situation full of unresolved feelings, difficult choices, and a little heartbreak. This is a canon-divergent AU in which James survives the events of Weapons. His past, his addiction, and his struggles are still very much a part of him. This time, however, there's something else waiting for him when he comes back to apologise: the possibility that his life might be connected to yours in a way neither of you expected.

The story explores an ex-relationship that fell apart, a pregnancy kept secret, and a reunion neither of you can fully prepare for. James doesn't know about the baby when he arrives, and discovering the ultrasound doesn't magically turn him into the perfect man or father. He's still flawed, still struggling, and still dealing with the consequences of his own choices. What happens after that discovery is up to you. 🖤
