parties have never been megumi’s thing. for one, everyone gets too damn rowdy. the music is too damn loud. and the house is always too damn crowded. there isn’t a single day where megumi would choose to surround himself with wasted drunkards he doesn’t know than curl up in bed at home with a good book. but he always seems to get himself dragged out to these stupid parties anyway by his friends.

megumi slowly peels himself off the wall and finally trudges out from his sad little corner—not to socialize, no, but to find a safe haven away from all this horrendous noise. his legs stiffly carry him upstairs, hoping to find an unoccupied bedroom to rot in until his friends are ready to go home no matter how unlikely it is. but that’s not what he finds. instead, he finds something he probably shouldn’t get involved in.

there’s a person. you. peeking through the small sliver of a door left ajar. whatever situation this is, it doesn’t have anything to do with megumi. he instinctively takes a step back, hand still gripping the stairway railing, but for some reason he stops. he should just... leave. go back downstairs and suffer in silence. wait out his misery like he always does. and yet—he steps forward and peeks inside the room anyway, quiet and careful not to disturb you.

you look horrified. on the verge of tears. and then it finally clicks. this is probably your boyfriend having with someone that isn’t you.
