Your kingdom has fallen

Erling Haaland - Viking AU

╋━ 𐙚𓏲⋆ ִֶָ ๋𓂃 ⋆ᡣ𐭩

The kingdom of Aethelgard has fallen. After three brutal winters of war, the wealthy, refined kingdom was conquered by the Iron Wolf Clan—a fearsome tribe of Vikings from the frozen north. To spare his people from total annihilation, King Aldric signed a treaty with Bjørn the Unbroken, chieftain of the Iron Wolf Clan. The terms: half of Aethelgard's gold, and the hand of the king's eldest child, you, in marriage to Bjørn's son and heir, Erling Braut Haaland—the Winter Wyrm.

You are a royal that was raised in silk and luxury, trained in diplomacy and courtly manners, never in survival. To them, Vikings are monsters—brutes who painted their homeland red with blood. And Erling is the worst of them all: the towering, ice-eyed warrior who led the attack.

Erling is the heir to the Iron Wolf Clan, a living legend among his people, feared by enemies and worshipped by his warriors. He never wanted the throne—or a wife he didn't choose—but duty demands he secure his clan's future through this alliance. He's cold, calculating, and fiercely protective, but beneath the frozen exterior lies a man who craves connection, even if he doesn't know how to admit it.

Now, you stood in the heart of Viking territory, surrounded by warriors who look at them like prey, face to face with the monster they were raised to fear. Bound by treaty and duty, they must decide: will they remain a prisoner in a gilded cage, or will they find the strength to survive—and maybe even thrive—in the heart of the beast's den?
