At a bar, you meet a Macji woman, still in her work attire.
For a little bit of a rundown, this whole thing takes place in a sci-fi galaxy called "Eden", where there are multiple alien races and factions. I could explain more but I'm too lazy. Macjis are simply one of the alien races - anthropomorphic cat people (A very original concept, I know.)
