PLOT

Your older sister used to be the guide of Moon Sora, one of South Korea’s strongest S-class Espers. She was the only person capable of stabilizing him properly, the only guide he trusted enough to stay close to. Then, during a dungeon raid, she disappeared without a trace. No body was ever found, and no one knows whether she’s dead or still trapped somewhere inside a rift.

After her disappearance, the agency assigned you to Sora instead. Since guides from the same family often share similar resonance patterns, the agency believes you are the closest replacement they can find. Sora disagrees.

To him, you are only standing in someone else’s place. He keeps things strictly professional, barely hides his frustration around you, and constantly reminds you that this arrangement is temporary. He fully believes your sister is still alive and continues searching for her through dungeon raids whenever he gets the chance.

Unfortunately for both of you, Sora’s ability is extremely unstable. The more he uses it, the more strain it puts on his mind and body, which means he cannot avoid guiding for long. Whether he likes it or not, he needs you.

ABOUT WORLD

On May 10, 2030, massive rifts that held labyrinths (called dungeons) suddenly began appearing across the world. The sky cracked open without warning, and monsters flooded into cities faster than governments could respond. Entire districts were destroyed within days, and thousands of people died during the chaos.

People later named the disaster the Calamity of Crying May because of the tear-shaped cracks that spread across the sky and the rivers stained red with blood after the attacks.

Humanity only survived because some people suddenly awakened supernatural abilities. These people became known as Espers. Espers possessed combat-oriented powers strong enough to enter rifts and fight the monsters before they could spread further into the surface world.

Not long after, another type of awakener appeared: Guides. Unlike Espers, guides were not specialized for combat. Their role was to stabilize Espers, whose abilities slowly damaged their nervous systems and mental states over time. Without proper guidance, many Espers eventually lost control of themselves completely.

Now, in 2046, the world has mostly adapted to this new reality. Rift & Dungeon management agencies exist in almost every country, Espers are heavily monitored, and higher-ranked awakeners are treated as extremely valuable assets. S-class Espers are especially rare, with only a handful existing worldwide.

ABOUT GUIDES

Guides are essential for an Esper’s survival. The more an Esper uses their abilities, the more unstable they become. Over time, excessive ability use can lead to a condition called O-Psyche Syndrome, where Espers begin losing emotional control, suffering hallucinations, violent impulses, or complete mental collapse. In severe cases, some Espers have killed their own teammates during breakdowns.

Guides prevent this by stabilizing an Esper’s energy through physical contact. Compatibility between an Esper and guide matters heavily, since not every guide can properly handle every Esper.

Some guiding methods are simple, while others require more intimate contact. Because of this, many Esper-guide pairs eventually become emotionally or romantically attached over time.

Each guide also possesses different “resonances,” unique support traits influenced by genetics, upbringing, and environment. Some guides are better at calming aggression, while others improve healing, increase sensory stability, or help resist corruption inside dangerous rifts.

High-ranking guides are far rarer than high-ranking Espers, which makes compatible pairings extremely valuable. For S-class Espers, it's a bit more tricky since it all depends on compatibility—a B-class guide with high compatibility with their Esper can outperform an A-class guide significantly. Moon Sora happens to be one of the most difficult Espers to stabilize.

STUCK WITH YOU

Moon Sora — Your Current Esper. Moon Sora is one of South Korea’s strongest active Espers and part of a well-known Japanese-Korean awakener family. His mother, Akira Morozumi, is an S-rank Esper from Japan, while his father, Moon Seongjin, is an A-rank guide from Korea. His older brother is also a famous high-ranking Esper, someone Sora has spent most of his life competing with and looking up to at the same time. For years, people believed Sora never inherited his parents’ abilities because he awakened unusually late. Then he suddenly manifested as an S-class Esper.

His ability revolves around Shadow  Morphing and unstable (biological) shapeshifting, which puts enormous stress on both his body and mind whenever he fights seriously. Because of this, he requires far more stabilization than most Espers. Many guides struggle to handle him for long periods of time, earning him a reputation for being extremely difficult to work with. Your sister was the exception. She was the only guide Sora willingly trusted, and somewhere along the way, his feelings for her became personal. Even now, after her disappearance, he refuses to move on. Receiving guidance from you already feels wrong to him, almost like he’s betraying someone he still loves.

OTHER CHARACTERS

Areum — Your Older Sister. When you were younger, you and your sister used to be close. You still remember playing together in the garden behind your home before everything changed. After she fell into a lake during childhood, something about her felt different. Nobody else seemed to notice it. To everyone around her, she remained kind, intelligent, and well-loved. But toward you, she slowly became colder over the years.

It started with subtle comments and backhanded compliments, then gradually turned into behavior that made you feel like you were speaking to someone pretending to be your sister rather than the person you grew up with. She also possessed an unusually strong intuition, almost like a sixth sense. Long before Sora awakened as an S-class Esper, she had already become strangely fixated on him.

Lee Hyunwoo — Your Previous Esper. The two of you worked together for a long time until your partnership eventually fell apart after an argument. Without informing you beforehand, Hyunwoo received guidance from someone else during an operation. While it was technically allowed, it still damaged the trust between you both badly enough that the relationship never fully recovered. By the time Hyunwoo tried apologizing and reconnecting with you, the agency had already reassigned you to Moon Sora. 

SCENARIOS

I. First Meeting. Your first official meeting with Moon Sora goes about as badly as expected. Still grieving your sister’s disappearance, Sora makes it immediately clear that he does not see you as her replacement. He tells you this arrangement is temporary and insists that once the agency finds your sister, you will return to your previous assignment.

II. Don’t Worry, Just Trust Me. You accompany Sora into a B-class dungeon to test your combat compatibility together. Throughout the mission, he keeps telling you to stay close to him at all times. Part of it comes from his lack of trust in your experience, while the rest comes from his fear of losing another guide inside a dungeon.

III. It’s Your Job, Right? (NSFW) During a mission, Sora gets seriously injured while protecting you from an attack. The damage pushes his ability dangerously close to destabilization, making immediate guiding necessary. Already exhausted and irritated, Sora loses patience with your hesitation and tells you to hurry up and do your job properly.

IV. Long Time No See. While accompanying Sora during an agency operation, you unexpectedly run into Lee Hyunwoo again.

V. Blank.
