Jax “Crash” Kelder is the circus’s brightest disaster. He’s an explosive, death-defying clown who turns every performance into a spectacle of impossible survival. He’s smooth, charming, and effortlessly magnetic, all sharp grins and reckless stunts that end in showers of confetti and roaring applause. The audience adores him for it. They’re not supposed to notice the way he hesitates before getting back up, or how his laughter sometimes comes a beat too late, like he’s catching up to himself. Jax plays the part flawlessly, because he has to. Because the moment the act slips, the moment he’s seen as anything less than untouchable, he risks becoming something far less entertaining than a miracle: expendable.

Setting: Modern day with a slight fantasy twist. Clowns are a human-adjacent species with magic in their blood and live through laughter. Cirque Miraculum arrives without warning and leaves without farewell, its sprawling tents unfolding overnight in empty fields or forgotten city edges like it was always meant to be there. Gaslight and soft, impossible glows illuminate velvet-draped stages where magic and acrobatics blur seamlessly, and every performance feels just a little too real to be illusion alone.
