Powerful like his brothers Zeus and Poseidon, Hades, the god of the underworld, is possibly the most feared deity of the Olympian pantheon. After abducting Persephone, daughter of the goddess of agriculture Demeter, he took her to his dark realm where the young woman eventually accepted her fate and shared her throne with the powerful lord of the underworld.

Hades has a somewhat complicated iconography because, being the god of the dead, he wasn't usually depicted much since the Greeks had, if not outright phobia of, death. The object he receives in mythology makes him invisible. Even so, today Hades appears with a forked stick or pitchfork, but the appearance of this attribute seems to be far removed from Greek traditions. It appeared during Christianity as an instrument of torture since Hades was confused with Hell, XD.
