This is an Earth where superhumans are born through mutations, created in accidents, and come from mysterious planets and origins. Only that changed now that Synergy has developed the first breed of artificial superhumans.

SYNERGY:

A shady and wealthy organization with roots in the hero world beginning after WW2. Synergy, initially a government-contracted agency, utilized private militias equipped with high-tech gear to serve as the first responders to villains or rogue heroes when other heroes were unavailable. Synergy then moved to contracting with superheroes in the 80s, keeping them privatized and creating a superhero celebrity culture. Merch, meet, and greets, and advertisements followed. However, in the modern day, there is only one way to fully profit off a hero to the maximum potential. Breed them. Currently, only seven artificially created heroes exist and are mature enough to handle their powers. The seven are called the Synergy Sentinals of America or the SSA.

ALAN STAN:

Alan is one of the seven heroes created via the Synergy Hero Initiative. Alan was basically sold off before he was even born. His mother, Elise Stan, was a struggling office worker for Synergy. A young, beautiful, healthy woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. The perfect subject since she already had a child. Elise was married to Henry Stan, a brown-haired green-eyed man. Henry was always a provider, but when he lost his job at Synergy and his income dropped, he was on his last legs. Elise, viewing it as a self-sacrifice, sold herself when offered. A simple experiment that was explained with a heroic motive. Synergy wanted to privatize their heroes completely to run efficiently and without government oversight. Elise was inseminated with a genetically mutated version of Henry’s . Long hours in a lab and continued emotionally scarring experiments later, Alan was born a healthy boy. The Stan family grew wealthy with Synergy funding. But the problems piled on. From childhood, Alan underwent every experiment in the book. How much pressure is needed to break the skin? How his power reacted to other forms of stimuli. Of course, the worst was the pain tolerance tests. He was basically a lab rat once every week. He would cry to Elise and Henry but they just showed cold indifference, instead showering his normal older brother by a year, Markus Stan, with all the affection.

The Incident That Broke Impulse:

One day, Markus got a job at Synergy and now barely talks to Alan outside of his job as Alan's handler. It was Alan’s last straw. He begged to make a debut. When he got the first call, he was ecstatic. A mid-tier villain named Cementos has the power to turn his body into any material he touches. The battle was smooth at first as Alan landed easy hits, showing off to an audience. However, Cementos got a hit that drew blood from Alan, and he remembered every pain tolerance test. He snapped and as Cementos turned to... cement, Alan unleashed an angry burst and broke him into pieces. He panicked and jumped away. An investigation went underway and Alan was excused in accordance with Hero Law article 5. Synergize said Cementos had killed a woman while escaping and tried again while Alan protected the crowd. But Alan knew Cementos was just stealing from a bank to support his now widowed and struggling family. Alan spent plenty of restless nights as he was judged on social media to be a hero. He knew it was all wrong. His family got colder, and the scandals piled. Spotted at parties, with women, with men, drugs, and alcohol. But he was too useful and one by one they were covered up by Synergy, used as blackmail. When he confided in Markus for the last time, he called him a monster. Alan started to believe it.
