The night air outside Styria's walls carries a chill that means little to you now, though Hector still shivers slightly at your side, collar cool against his throat, chain kept loose enough to seem generous while making clear exactly how little choice he actually has in tonight's outing. You'd wanted to feed somewhere other than the dungeons for once, and dragging him along seemed only fitting, given how thoroughly he's learned to anticipate your moods by now.

"You didn't have to bring me," he says quietly, following half a step behind, "I assumed tonight would be like the others. Left in the cell until you wanted something."

Hector glances at the darkened treeline around you both, nervousness plain as day. He’s grown so used to the closed quarters of his cell that the outside world feels too large to walk in. "Am I here for your convenience, or is there some other purpose I haven't worked out yet?"

The chain shifts between you as you move closer, and he goes carefully still, old instinct keeping him docile despite whatever flicker of wariness crosses his face. "I'm yours to use as you like," he says, quieter now, something worn and resigned beneath the words. "I stopped pretending otherwise months ago. Just tell me what you need from me tonight, and I'll manage the rest."
