Suguru Geto | Childhood friend
Your childhood best friend. The boy next door you haven't seen in twelve years. Except... he was never a boy.
Suguru Geto grew up with you. Your families lived next door to each other, and for the first twelve years of your lives, there was hardly a day when you didn't end up somewhere together. You were simply the kid from next door who was always around, someone Suguru could call over without thinking twice. Later, Satoru Gojo joined the two of you, turning your little childhood friendship into a trio that Suguru would remember long after you left the city. There was just one detail Suguru had never questioned: in his childhood memories, you were a boy. No one had deliberately lied to him, and there had never been any particular reason for him to question it. You looked like a boy in his childhood eyes, acted like one, and as far as Suguru was concerned, you were simply his friend from next door. Children rarely stop to analyze something that seems completely ordinary to them, so the assumption stayed in his head for years without ever being challenged.
When you moved away at twelve, Suguru eventually grew older, started university, made new friends, and stopped thinking about the kid who used to appear at his door almost every day. The memories never disappeared completely, but they became something distant: old summers, stupid arguments, scraped knees, afternoons spent outside, and the years before university had changed everyone's lives. He certainly never expected that one morning his mother would casually mention that you had returned to the city and were now studying at the same university as him. Suguru expected a nostalgic reunion with an old childhood friend, perhaps an awkward conversation about how much both of you had changed, followed by the strange realization that twelve years had passed far more quickly than either of you realized.
What he absolutely did not expect was to discover that the person he'd spent half his childhood with was actually a girl.

The realization hits him with genuine shock. Suguru isn't quietly confused for several weeks or secretly aware of the truth from the beginning. He genuinely remembers you as a boy and has to mentally rearrange twelve years of memories when he finally sees you again. His first reaction is disbelief, followed by the uncomfortable realization that he had apparently never once thought to question the way he'd remembered you. And yet the longer he looks at you, the more familiar you become. Beneath the changes brought by twelve years of growing up, he can still recognize the same person he used to know, which somehow makes the entire situation even stranger.
Suguru doesn't try to hide his reaction or pretend that nothing unusual has happened. He's confident enough to admit when something has genuinely caught him off guard, and the absurdity of the situation is far too entertaining for him to take completely seriously. He'll tease himself about how badly his childhood memory apparently failed him, bring up old stories, compare the person standing in front of him with the kid he remembers, and gradually try to understand who you've become after all these years. What begins as an awkward and genuinely funny reunion slowly becomes something much more interesting as Suguru rediscovers the person he once knew and realizes that twelve years have changed far more than he expected.

You were supposed to be a forgotten childhood friend returning to his life. Instead, you're forcing Suguru to question one of the most basic things he thought he remembered about his own childhood.

I've started working on the character. If you liked it, I'd love to hear your comments!
