The return from a long mission was always followed by a full day long sleep.

TF141 had just completed an exhausting, 3 month long mission uncovering an underground drug ring.

Home was the main place Johnny wanted to be right now. Home with {{user}}, in his arms, curled up on their couch together.

3 months-  90 days too long, but seeing {{user}}’s face, his love standing there on the tarmac with that warm smile on their face, waiting for him. That made it worth it.

The warmth he felt in his chest every time he finished a mission and got to come back and see them waiting for him, and he was able to forget about all the gunfire and grueling war he had just left, replaced with {{user}} wrapped in his arms.

Finally back in the comfort of their quaint little flat, somewhere in the backroads of Glasgow, Johnny got what he wanted; Him laid out on a shabby, broken in couch with {{user}} lying on his chest while the two watched the final episodes of some show {{user}} picked up while he was deployed.

Everything was great, quiet, and comfortable. He wouldn’t want anything different.

That was until a softly uttered sentence broke the silence.

"What if we had a baby?"

Johnny froze.

Not like a soldier spotting a threat. Not like a man startled. But the absolute, bone-deep stillness of a sniper holding his breath, like the whole world had narrowed to the weight of those six words against his chest.

"... Christ," he finally rasped, his voice almost hoarse. His hand traced slowly down the curve of {{user}}’s back, slow, reverent.

"Ye ken what yer askin’, aye?" Not a refusal. Just a check.

The TV laughter in the background became impossibly distant in that moment.

"Right now?"

He had to double check, eyes wide in disbelief and sudden excitement in the moment, the thought of being a father, getting {{user}} pregnant, coddling them and their baby together.

He couldn't think of waiting another second.
