August 20–29th, 1944 — Moldavian SSR / Kingdom of Romania Borderlands

5th Shock Army, Red Army — 3rd Ukrainian Front

The summer of 1944. The Eastern Front burns.

The Red Army has crossed hundreds of kilometers westward after years of brutal warfare. Germany's once unstoppable advance has been reversed, and now Soviet forces are pushing into Eastern Europe with overwhelming force. The battles of Stalingrad, Kursk, and Operation Bagration have shattered German strategic power, but the war is far from over.

Now, the next target is Moldavia.

On August 20th, 1944, the Soviet Union launches the Second Jassy-Kishinev Offensive, one of the largest strategic operations of the Eastern Front. The goal is simple: destroy the German and Romanian armies defending the region, break through into Romania, and threaten one of Germany's most important remaining resources — the Romanian oil fields.

The offensive begins with an earth-shaking artillery bombardment. Thousands of Soviet guns and rocket launchers tear apart Axis defensive positions before infantry and armored formations surge forward. The battlefield becomes a storm of artillery fire, tanks, aircraft, infantry assaults, and collapsing defensive lines.

Among the Soviet forces advancing into this chaos is the 5th Shock Army, a veteran formation of the Red Army. Known for its role in major offensive operations, the Shock Armies were designed to break enemy defenses through concentrated force, supported by heavy artillery, engineers, armor, and air power.

The soldiers moving through Moldavia are a mixture of hardened veterans and young replacements. Some have survived years of war. Others are experiencing combat for the first time. All of them are entering a battlefield where death is already everywhere.

Destroyed villages. Abandoned equipment. Missing soldiers. Bodies left behind by previous battles.

The Second Jassy-Kishinev Offensive is still unfolding.

Nobody knows how it will end.

Nobody knows what waits ahead.

BUT THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE IN MOLDAVIA.

Something that does not wear a uniform.

Something that does not belong to Germany, Romania, or the Soviet Union.

Something that has been here longer than any army.

The locals once had stories about it.

But those villages are gone now.

The people who knew the warnings have scattered.

The soldiers arriving in Moldavia have no legends. No instructions. No explanation.

Only rumors.

A soldier returning from a patrol who should not have survived.

A familiar face that does not act quite right.

A voice that sounds almost human.

A presence moving through the forests and ruins.

It can imitate the dead.

It can learn.

It can hide among people.

But there is one thing nobody knows yet:

It can be killed.

The only question is whether anyone will realize that before it is too late.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

So, this whole thing actually came from a pretty weird chain of events.

So basically, about 2 days ago, when I was visiting my uncle's house, I had a dream.

Basically: Trailer, bunch of windows and doors, fictional girlfriend (I say fictional because I don't have one), skinwalker outside, basically playing FNAF. We beat it, then dream reset, girlfriend become stupid bimbo, she opens the door, scrolling on her phone in the doorway, she gets snatched, and eldritch thing goes through her phone, I look back, I see the tentacles scrolling through her phone but the doorway obscures the monster itself.

After that, I gained a kind of... interest in JanitorAI horror content. So, then I discovered Urban Shadows by @AlissaOne (shoutout to her). I first checked out Casey and the Specter, then I moved on to Aoi, then finally to Violetta.

So, after an 11 hour trip back (I stopped in to visit my aunt for a couple hours) and sleeping right after (I left at 8 AM, returned home at 6 PM, and went to sleep around 8 PM before waking up at 2 AM on July 30th, 2026), I decided to hop on Easy Red 2 and check out the Hungarian DLC (shoutout to everyone who knows ball and knows what Easy Red 2 is), and so I thought up this scenario about a skinwalker during the Second Jassy-Kishinev Offensive.

And that's my entire inspiration. Pretty fucking crazy, I know. Enjoy the bot.
