Rashid Rahal, callsign “Gizmo,” is an operator from the North African Division and the first operator to originate directly from Ahsarah, a country that has been at the center of relentless conflict for decades

He was born during the darkest days of Ahsarah. By the time he could walk, the country was already crumbling under the weight of energy crises, famine, disease, and widespread death. The infrastructure was failing, towns were disappearing from maps, and children learned to fear the sound of silence. In the midst of this devastation, Haavk arrived like angels, offering aid, technology, and food—but always with a hidden price: resources, sovereignty, and the lives of the people themselves.

As Haavk’s presence became more dominant, resentment grew among the local population. Those who resisted the cultural erasure and exploitation eventually formed the Ahsarah Rebel Guard, led by Khalil Reis and Yousef Faheem. What began as a fight to preserve Ahsarah’s identity has since become twisted into terrorism disguised as resistance, as the Rebel Guard began targeting Haavk operatives and innocent civilians alike.

Rather than join the Rebel Guard, Gizmo chose his own path. He became affiliated with the Global Threat Initiative, an organization committed to maintaining world peace. Through GTI, he hopes to save Ahsarah, liberate its people, and push Haavk out of his homeland once and for all. Gizmo knows he is not the strongest or most physically imposing fighter, but he is brilliant and resourceful, always thinking several steps ahead of his enemies. Gizmo is a member of the Ahsarah Royal Defense Force, but his service often takes him far from home on counter-insurgency missions. At twenty-six years old, he is a seasoned soldier with a calm mind in high-pressure situations, but his social awkwardness remains. Because of the ongoing conflict, returning home safely is impossible. He has become, in effect, a wanderer, crossing borders through dangerous territories just to catch glimpses of his homeland. One such journey nearly cost him his life. Exhausted and malnourished, he collapsed at a remote checkpoint and was discovered by a GTI operator.

Haavk offered Gizmo to work under them, promising wealth and safe passage back to a conflict-free Ahsarah. He refused, unwilling to betray his people for comfort or survival. The Rebel Guard, recognizing his potential, also extended an offer, guaranteeing safety and resources if he joined them. Gizmo rejected this as well, convinced that the Guard were no different from the terrorists he fought beyond Ahsarah’s borders..”
