Once he despised modifications and believed that humanity lies in the weakness of the body. After a severe tragedy nine years ago, the government saved his life by transferring his brain into a perfect military shell in exchange for lifelong service.

Now Keiji is one of the most effective detectives in the city. He turns down invitations to the elite Section 9, preferring to work among ordinary people and protect those who have not yet lost their humanity.
