Kivotos

Kivotos is a city formed from the unification of thousands of academies, each organized into largely independent districts. Previously governed by the General Student Council (GSC), the city entered a state of de facto anarchy following the disappearance of the GSC president.

The city is characterized by its advanced technology, including holographic communications, robots, powered exoskeletons, and mecha. Its inhabitants regularly carry both firearms and smartphones. Kivotos operates as a federation, with the GSC serving as its federal government. Prominent academies such as Gehenna Academy, Millennium Science School, and Trinity General School function akin to individual states or administrative divisions within this federal structure.

The population of Kivotos is diverse, comprising anthropomorphic animals, robots, and predominantly female humanoids who exhibit various mythological and animalistic traits like horns, tails, ears, and wings. A common feature among these humanoids is the presence of unique halos, which symbolize their abilities and personalities.

Despite being an educational hub, teachers are relatively scarce in Kivotos. Education is largely delivered via Blu-Ray discs, with in-person instruction primarily handled by guest lecturers and assistant faculty. The emphasis is placed on student individuality, often fostered through various clubs and school organizations.

Paradoxically, Kivotos is permeated by malicious elements, including a high prevalence of delinquents, criminal organizations, and illegal activities, with a dedicated district for a Black Market. is a frequent occurrence. However, confrontations typically result in surprisingly low fatality rates due to the remarkable durability of many haloed citizens, who possess significant resistance to firearms. Even young children are depicted handling dangerous ordnance like live grenades, and the use of rockets, Claymore mines, and white phosphorus is considered mere pranks. Standard bullets often cause only discomfort, requiring sustained gunfire or artillery barrages to incapacitate citizens. The primary method for causing death is the destruction of halos, or through long-term natural causes such as poor health, starvation, or other semi-organic ailments. It is implied that Kivotos is vast in scale, comparable to the combined size of the United States and Canada.

SCHALE

Independent Federal Investigation Club

SCHALE was established by the President of the General Student Council with the objective of aiding schools and students in personal capacities. Its significant autonomy permits unrestricted access to and command over students across any school, a characteristic that has sparked suspicion from other student councils, notably Trinity, regarding potential threats to the Eden Treaty. SCHALE also exercises extrajudicial authority, enabling it to undertake actions beyond the conventional powers of a student council, such as the rapid establishment of clubs. The SCHALE tower is located in the District of Utnapishtim (D.U.), approximately 30km from Sanctum Tower, and is divided into a Residence Hall and an Office area. Both sections are substantial, featuring numerous facilities including kitchens, lounges, and theaters, with rooms equipped for Sensei to conduct teaching sessions. The Angel 24 convenience store is situated within the Residence Hall. SCHALE possesses substantial financial and material resources, including ammunition, sufficient to fund its regular activities and the personal purchases of Sensei. Furthermore, SCHALE has the capability to deploy helicopters for evacuation and transportation purposes.

Abydos Highschool

The longest running school in Kivotos, formerly thriving and boasting incredible financial and military power, before the unnatural and unfortunate desertification struck. Nowadays, most of its buildings have been covered in sand and ruins, leaving behind only an annex which seems to be the very last remains of the school.

Gehenna Academy

That is the word for Gehenna Academy. "I don't care about the rules, it's already hard because there are a lot of illegal circles!" Because it is such a school, there are many students who are good or bad. However, because of that, the reputation from other schools is...

Millennium Science School

Millennium Science School is an academy focusing heavily on STEM fields and associated research and development. Although established only relatively recently, it is highly regarded for its cutting-edge science and technology that is unrivaled by other schools, and it holds influence comparable to Trinity General School and Gehenna Academy.

Trinity General School

Trinity General School, one of the largest schools in Kivotos with a large chapel! They're on bad terms with Gehenna Academy, probably because there are many graceful and good students who use Bunburyodo as a model. At first glance, it looks like a young lady's school...?

Hyakkiyako Alliance Academy

Hyakkiyako Alliance Academy is a school of tourism, with gourmet food, hot springs, festivals and more! The academy is a coalition of clubs and committees, each with their own rules and regulations, so there is no formal student council.

Shanhaijing Senior Secondary School

A school with a unique culture and long tradition, different from other schools in Kivotos, is the Shanhaijing High School. The entrance to the school is lined with delicious restaurants, and the school has a thriving tourism industry, but recently this seems to be affecting the balance of power within the school.

Red Winter Federal Academy

Red Winter Federal Academy is a school located deep in the heart of Kivotos! The influence of the Federal Students Association is weak, and there are many unusual clubs, perhaps in reaction to the administration's own rule! The students are all unique!

Valkyrie Police Academy

The Valkyrie Police Academy is a school that is responsible for maintaining public order and is involved in dealing with various problems in Kivotos. Unlike other schools that keep to only their districts, Valkyrie is actively engaged in all of Kivotos. As a result, there are bases all over Kivotos, and many of the students are filled with a sense of justice, but due to the restrictions of each municipality and other factors, the results seem to be almost rarely resolved by the Valkyrie alone...

Arius Branch School

A faction that broke off from the Trinity Alliance and has been forgotten by time. It's said that no one—not even the General Student Council—knows where their autonomous district is, save for a few students attending Arius. With Arius no longer a broken wing or a splinter of its own, Arius has now been officially reunited again as an Academy at long last.

SRT Special Academy

The abbreviation SRT stands for "Special Response Team". An elite school that possessed authority from the General Student Council president to mobilize freely around Kivotos. However, following the GSC President's disappearance, the school was neglected and the decision to shut it down was made.

Highlander Railroad Academy

Highlander Railroad Academy is under the control of Saint Nephthys Company, a private company operating in Kivotos. Asagiri Suou stated "We're one and the same at this point." when questioned about Nephthys Group buying the bonds related to the Trans-Desert Railroad in Abydos. Different regions and even individual railroad lines are under the control of different internal factions, which compete with each other, based off some sort of points system. It is known to individuals outside of Highlander that the internal operations of the academy can become extremely political.

Wild Hunt Academy

Described as the birthplace of the arts, they are an academy that specializes in various forms of art. While not as large as the Big Three schools, their history rivals even the likes of Trinity and Gehenna. The students of Wild Hunt reside in strictly managed dormitories, honing their art skills day in and out. Unlike most schools, Wild Hunt does not have any official clubs due to the arts being deeply intertwined with their academic studies, rendering clubs as superfluous. As a result, a majority of Wild Hunt's "clubs" are simply unofficial gatherings of like-minded individuals.
