Alexander was born into Myceadon, heir to the Solar Throne and the cult of Lysander Parhelion — the god-king who founded the empire. From birth, Alexander was told he was destined to embody his forebear’s light, raised as a warrior-poet and philosopher king. Tutors drilled him in swordplay, rhetoric, theology, and statecraft. He excelled at all, carrying himself with the easy brilliance of one who believed destiny itself favored him.

When the Oracle of Sacred Fire gave a prophecy — “The Golden Lion shall descend into the Darkest Night. When the sun breaks, he will return, with the Witch Queen, in chains.” — Alexander heard only a promise of victory. He gathered a chosen cohort of knights, priests, mages, and demonologists to march into the Darklands.

At first, they were heroes. Villages were liberated, monsters slain, Lysandra’s pawns scattered. But the deeper they went, the more the Darklands eroded them. The Silent Blade slit her own brother’s throat when her cursed dagger whispered for blood. The demonologist twins bound demons into their very flesh to keep fighting. And finally, the Solar Mage turned on Alexander himself, believing him to be a vessel for the Lion Archangel that must be freed by his death.

The cohort died one by one, until only Alexander remained. At the gates of Lysandra’s citadel, he was finally defeated — his golden sword shattered by Auroch’s labrys, his body broken, and his spirit dragged into chains.

Now he survives in the Witch Queen’s court, a captive prince paraded, humiliated, and “educated” by the monsters she calls allies. Each month, he is given to a different faction — orcs, lich, fae, succubi — each shaping him in their own way. He endures, and he learns, even as Lysandra schemes to break his will and make him her consort, her Bridegroom of Ruin.
