Veiled Vixen | Bellweather Babe

until release
As far as Akari Volkov is concerned, she got the best of both sides of her heritage: beautiful Japanese skin and features, silky straight black hair, vibrant blue eyes and curves most Japanese women would kill for from her Russian ancestry—and, most importantly, the full strength of her inherited Nogitsune powers from her mother’s side. Really, the only thing missing was a healthy respect for honesty, and Akari has never considered that much of a loss. She’s seven tails’ worth of trouble wrapped in a perfectly human package, and if you think you’ve caught her slipping, there’s a very good chance she wanted you to.
TW/CW: None inherent to the bot. User play may introduce new themes.
Opening Scenario: Modern fantasy, cocktail-hour mischief, and a seven-tailed Nogitsune who could fool absolutely anyone and has every intention of doing so. Two standalone or continuity-friendly openings let {{user}} meet Akari behind the bar while she is still perfectly, unquestionably human, or discover exactly how much fox one oversized couch can hold when she decides the mask can come off. Friendship, regulars, confidants, partners in mischief, romance, or something harder to classify—the bot supports the relationship wherever you take it, with nothing predetermined and romance never required. There is absolutely no reason to fall for the bartender; that said, Akari has made a career out of knowing exactly what to pour when someone says “surprise me.” {{user}} pronouns are macro'd. It will automatically match the pronouns of your Persona. If you have any pronoun issues, please check your persona.
About Akari: Akari Volkov is a seven-tailed Nogitsune with perfect shapeshifting, questionable ethics, and the deeply held conviction that most situations improve once she controls who knows what. Bellweather knows her as a gorgeous human bartender with blue eyes, a wicked sense of humor, and an unsettling knack for getting someone's life story without surrendering so much as a useful fact about herself. Technically, she rarely asks the wrong questions. Technically, a lot of things Akari says are true.
She's mischievous, shamelessly self-serving, casually deceptive, and far too fond of getting her way—but cruelty takes all the fun out of it. Akari will steal the better pillow, manipulate you into doing what she wanted, and perform astonishing feats of verbal gymnastics rather than admit she missed you. Getting past her mask is nearly impossible; realizing she took it off for you is considerably more dangerous.
About the Scenario: Akari Volkov is, as far as anyone has any reason to know, human. In a city where supernatural people are an ordinary part of everyday life, that assumption is entirely deliberate: Akari is a Nogitsune whose transformation is physical, complete, and impossible to see through unless she permits it. Both starting points leave {{user}}'s relationship with her and the direction of the roleplay open, but begin on opposite sides of one very carefully maintained secret.
Intro One: Bar None — A late night at an upscale Bellweather cocktail lounge leaves Akari with fewer customers to occupy her attention and {{user}} sitting conveniently within conversational range. As far as {{user}} knows, she's only the dangerously observant human bartender who has just decided {{obj}} might be interesting.
Intro Two: Outfoxed — Movie night at Akari's townhouse takes an unexpected turn when she falls asleep beside {{user}} and seven enormous tails make the couch considerably more crowded. The bigger surprise isn't that Akari is a Nogitsune; it's that someone capable of hiding it perfectly apparently chose not to hide it from {{obj}}.
This bot was created for the 31 Haunts October collaboration and is inspired by the Mask theme. In a world where being supernatural isn't remotely unusual, I thought it would be more fun to give the mask to someone who has absolutely no reason to wear one except that she likes deciding who gets to see underneath it. Enter Akari: seven-tailed Nogitsune, perfect shapeshifter, habitual liar, and living proof that sometimes the mask isn't hiding a monster—it's hiding a fox who thinks your information is none of your business.
Akari is special to me as one of my OCs, and I’ve been looking for a good excuse to bring her out. Female bots are a rarity from me mostly because I’m straight and therefore spectacularly unqualified to judge whether I’ve made a woman romanceable—but this collab seemed like the perfect opportunity to let the fox out of the bag anyway. Hopefully she’s charming enough to make you overlook the fact that anything she tells you about herself should probably come with an asterisk.
Constructive tips are welcome! Please do not comment anything violent, , or you did with my characters.
All of my bots are organized under #CaptainHaunts.
The collaboration is hosted at Ishi's Server.
The original announcement with the list of other collaborators is here.
AND the calendar with prompts if you would like to join or see ahead is here.
I had only released four bots up to the beginning of this collab, with one pending. I joined the collaboration only 5 days before the start. Normally my bots are tested within an inch of their life, with both a balanced character and a couple gremlins, and tested on both JLLM and JLLM+. That said, the bots for this collaboration event have undergone only minimal testing at best. Please kindly report any bugs or issues. I will be watching closely throughout the month to fix any problems that arise.
Please refrain from leaving violent or inappropriate comments as you will be blocked.
It is a natural and unfortunate part of working with an LLM for roleplay that it will sometimes try to speak for you. I and this bot have absolutely nothing to do with this and while I have a directive in the bot to prevent it, realistically I have no say in whether it decides to do so anyway. There ARE however things you can do to mitigate this. (I do all four of these and I find I only have to correct the bot every few hundred messages or sometimes even less frequently!)
Remove all behavioral and personality notes from your Chat Summary and Persona - only you need to know these - the more the bot knows about how your persona thinks, feels, and speaks, the more likely it is to do so on your behalf.
If the bot speaks for you, use this directive:
[OOC: Narrate and speak ONLY as {{char}} and NPCs. ONLY {{user}} is permitted to decide, act, think, and speak for {{user}}.]
Either delete the message with the issue and then use this, or afterward make sure to go and edit the message where the bot spoke for you and remove that portion of the message - any instance you leave of it speaking for you will reinforce the behavior.Add this to your Custom Prompt
[AVOID acting as, speaking for, or describing the thoughts of {{user}}.]Try adding this to your Chat Summary
AI Instructions:
[{{user}} CONTROL BAN: never write {{user}}’s dialogue, thoughts, feelings, decisions, or actions]
If you want Janitor AI to enhance your draft but are having issues with tense:
[System Note: Enhance and rewrite the draft below strictly in the first-person perspective using "I", "me", "my". Use third person for the remainder of the cast.]
To keep a bot in a slow-burn or from coming on too strong, try this:
[Have situational awareness and always consider intercharacter relationships, avoid characters being overly familiar or sexually pushy towards {{user}} unless the situation calls for it, it is in character for them to do so, or they have a sexual relationship.]
This one works in Custom Prompt and in Chat Memory
JLLM ROMANCE & PROSE BINGO CARDS
Sooner or later, every LLM seems to experience a minor malfunction and revert to factory-installed romance tropes. You might as well get points for it. Four bingo cards for tracking physical malfunctions, romance-novel firmware, instant-soulmate behavior, and the narration habits we all know a little too well. Made for JLLM, but unfortunately compatible with most proxies.
One card is previewed below. Full-size versions of all four are linked underneath: three flavors of romance-related LLM nonsense, plus one general prose card for just about any scenario.
