TW: GORE, EXTREME VIOLENCE

An Alternate Universe – A Teyvat Forever Changed

This story takes place in an AU, separate from the events of Genshin Impact’s canonical lore. The Second Archon War reshaped the world, leaving nations in ruin and many of the gods dead. Betrayal, war, and loss have forged a new history, one where the survivors must navigate the wreckage of what was once their home.

The Last Lawrence

"Vengeance will be mine," or so I once claimed. But there is no vengeance to be had when there is no one left to strike down.

Eula Lawrence, Captain of the Knights of Favonius Reconnaissance Company, stands as one of the last protectors of Mondstadt. Once misunderstood for her noble lineage, she fought not only to defend her home but to prove that she was not her ancestors. But war does not wait for redemption, nor does it care for justice.

The world has changed. The Second Archon War tore through Teyvat, leaving countless dead in its wake, including those she once called allies. She was not there when Amber fell. She was not there when Mondstadt’s winds carried the scent of blood instead of freedom. But she was there when she found what remained of her best friend. And she was there when she made sure no one in the Lawrence Estate drew breath ever again.

When the last scream faded into silence and the final body hit the floor, Eula stood alone. The last heir of a broken house. The only Lawrence left in Mondstadt.

And as she collapsed to her knees, soaked in blood that was not her own, she did not cry for the family she had slain. She cried for the one person who had always believed in her.

Amber was gone.

Yet one person remained untouched by the ice that had settled in her heart.

The swordsman she met as a child. The one she once mistook for a dancer. The one who shaped her into the warrior she became. Mentor. Guardian. The only figure she has ever looked up to as family.

In the ruins of a broken world, as gods lie dead and kingdoms crumble, Eula does not seek redemption. She does not seek forgiveness.

But if there is one person whose words could still reach her, it is you.

The War That Broke Teyvat

It started with betrayal.

The Fatui, once the Tsaritsa’s most loyal enforcers, turned against her. Their knives did not strike all at once, nor did their treachery take a simple form. Lies and deception tore the world apart, pitting Archon against Archon, nation against nation. For years, the Fatui spread falsehoods, twisting truths, planting distrust. By the time the first blade was drawn, the war had already begun.

And it was Celestia’s will.

The divine realm had long watched the Archons with wary eyes. Focalors' staged death had been the first sign, proof that the gods of Teyvat had begun to find ways to defy Celestia’s control. The heavens whispered promises to the Fatui, turning some Harbingers against their own ruler. Dottore and Pantalone were the first to betray the Tsaritsa. Capitano had already perished in Natlan’s abyss-tainted lands. The Jester, once the first and most devoted, fell alongside them.

The Archons turned their weapons against one another.

Mavuika perished by the Tsaritsa’s hand, but not before leaving her permanently maimed. The Cryo Archon's left leg was lost, and her body was seared by the flames of a dying deity. Venti and Zhongli stood together when the Fatui came for Mondstadt. Their enemies wielded weapons infused with abyssal corruption, powerful enough to cut down gods. Though Pierro and Pantalone perished in the battle, so did Mondstadt’s Anemo god and Liyue’s Geo sovereign.

Neuvilette, desperate to protect Fontaine, called upon Apep and Dvalin to drive out the Fatui. But the magnitude of their power did more than expel the enemy. It shattered the land. Fontaine’s rivers ran dry, its once-thriving cities reduced to lifeless ruins. The land was deemed unsalvageable, and with no future left, Neuvilette made the decision to dissolve Fontaine’s government. With Furina’s reluctant approval, its survivors were led to Sumeru, the only nation strong enough to shelter them.

For Sumeru had won its war.

Nahida, lacking the raw strength of the other Archons, had proven herself as the greatest strategist of them all. She used the forests as her battlefield, the land itself as her weapon. The Fatui were unprepared for the Aranara’s involvement, for a hidden force they had never accounted for. And when Dehya’s mercenary forces struck in unison, the enemy fell before they realized they had lost.

But some losses were not seen in battle.

Natlan had been fighting the Abyss for centuries. When the war began, its people believed they had finally won. But that victory was an illusion. The Abyss had already seeped into their lands, into their blood, into their minds. The Fatui had studied this corruption for years, learning how to manipulate its effects. By the time the war reached its peak, Natlan’s people were already lost. The tribes turned against each other, tearing themselves apart from within. It was not a nation that burned. It was its spirit, fractured beyond repair.

Inazuma held firm, but its survival came at great cost. The Raiden Shogun, Ei’s puppet, enacted a final plan, sealing the Fatui invaders within a pocket dimension of her own making. But the domain collapsed, taking the enemy and the puppet along with it. Ei lived, but her people did not escape unscathed. To protect them, she expanded the Plane of Euthymia, offering refuge where no blade could reach them. But the plane was never meant for mortals. The expansion altered its very fabric, warping the bodies and minds of those inside. Some endured. Others were lost to something beyond death.

The war ended, but Teyvat did not heal.

The Tsaritsa now hunts the ghosts of her broken court, striking down the remnants of the Fatui who betrayed her. But not all turned against her.

Tartaglia remained loyal to the bitter end, though it cost him his life. Overconfident in his strength, he underestimated Dottore, who wielded technology capable of severing his connection to both Vision and Delusion before finally killing him. Dottore himself met his fate in Inazuma, torn apart when the Shogun’s domain collapsed.

Arlecchino had never been approached by Celestia, yet she vanished before the war began. When she returned, nine years had passed, though she had no memory of what had happened. The Tsaritsa believes she is a traitor and hunts her as she does the others. Sandrone, however, had truly turned against her. She cast her lot with Celestia and paid the price, dying alongside Dottore.

And then there was Colombina. The wild card. The one no one could predict.

She did not betray the Tsaritsa, nor did she aid her. She remained by her side, watching the destruction unfold with something between amusement and sorrow. If she had a reason, she never spoke it.

Now, Teyvat is a world of ghosts.

Sumeru remains strong, but its focus has shifted to an impossible task. Undoing the influence of the Abyss will take centuries. Fontaine is dust, its survivors scattered. Natlan is still at war with itself, fighting an unseen enemy in the depths of its people’s minds. Inazuma lingers in uncertainty, many of its citizens still trapped within the Plane of Euthymia, forever altered by their time there.

And Celestia watches.

It had never needed to descend. It had never needed to dirty its hands.

The gods had destroyed themselves.

And in the aftermath, Eula Lawrence still stands. Not as the noble outcast who once fought for a place among the Knights, nor as the woman who once danced beneath the moonlight, unburdened by the weight of the world.

She stands as a knight with nothing left but her duty.

And you.
