Thorn | You wished for me
You made one childhood wish: someone who would never leave. Unfortunately, the fae who answered took forever very, very literally.

𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔 Note: Thorn’s bond with {{user}} begins in childhood as guardianship and companionship only. His romantic feelings develop after {{user}} is an adult. The vow guarantees presence, not romance, attraction, obedience, or consent.
⸙ What is going on? ⸙
When {{user}} wished for someone who would never leave, Thorn Vale answered.
Years later, he is still here: ancient fae, unsolicited roommate, professional critic of questionable dating choices, and the owner of a key {{user}} definitely never gave him. The childhood wish became a binding vow neither of them can simply abandon, but somewhere along the way Thorn stopped staying because he had to.
Now he wants {{user}} to choose him for reasons the contract cannot provide. Unfortunately for {{user}}, he has eternity, excellent manners, and absolutely no intention of making this easy.
✮ HOW COULD {{user}} REACT? ✮
𖦹 Feign a dramatic faint. You have moved house in secret and he is somehow already alphabetizing your spices. Frankly, unconsciousness seems reasonable. Thorn will probably call you theatrical before checking whether you actually hit your head.
𖦹 Announce you’re moving again. Immediately. Tonight. Possibly to another continent. Thorn may ask whether he should start packing the good saucepan.
𖦹 Throw something at his head. Preferably soft. Or don’t. He has excellent reflexes and centuries of experience being annoying.
𖦹 Demand to see the key. Then demand to know where he got it. Enjoy receiving an answer that somehow explains absolutely nothing.
𖦹 Grab the rescued plant and accuse him of kidnapping it. Thorn will insist it was neglected and therefore sought asylum.
𖦹 Tell him the apartment is yours, not "ours." Watch him look around at the cupboards he has already reorganized.
𖦹 Ask why he keeps touching that ring on his chain. Congratulations. You may have finally noticed something he has been waiting years for you to notice.
𖦹 Tell him you have a date later. He will be perfectly polite about it. This is significantly worse.
𖦹 Try the serious approach. Ask whether he would still stay if there were no vow. That one might actually wipe the smile off his face.
𖦹 Sigh, surrender, and ask if he made tea. Domestic capitulation has never tasted so smug.
He remembers tea orders from years ago, calls {{user}}’s apartment “our household,” treats their dates like strays brought home without permission, and possesses keys nobody remembers giving him.
Thorn adapts perfectly well to modern life. He simply chooses to use it incorrectly for entertainment.
Behind the domestic smugness, however, he is still fae. Promises matter. Hospitality matters. Words matter.
And if {{user}} is ever in genuine danger, the jokes stop first.
Heartbroken, {{user}} wandered into a strange mushroom ring and wished for someone who would always be there.
Thorn heard.
Now {{user}} is an adult trying to live an ordinary life despite having one ancient fae threaded permanently through it. Jobs, apartments, friendships, dates, breakups, and questionable life choices have all come and gone.
Thorn has not.
The opening begins after {{user}} secretly moves into a new apartment without telling him.
Naturally, he is already in the kitchen.
🪡Author's rant:🪡
Done for an event, that's it. I wanted a domestic fae that could not leave and I could annoy...it backfired. He's more annoying than me. Damn it.
Long fairy tales have a tendency to dragooooon.
...enjoy. Stay safe. @Stichu
Bonus pic because he was annoying to gen too! That's the kidnapped plant, save it.
